DURHAM, N.C. – Former Duke women's soccer standout Caitlin Cosme has signed a professional contract with Crystal Palace Women in England through 2027.Â
Â
Crystal Palace Women are based in England and compete in the Women's Super League (WSL), England's top division.Â
Â
"It's great to have Caitlin join us at Palace for our return to the top flight," said manager Jo Potter. "She will bring a lot of experience and quality to our backline in the WSL."
Â
Cosme competed for FC Nantes in France over the last two seasons in the Première Ligue. She led FC Nantes to a seventh-place finish in 2024-25 and then a fourth-place finish in 2025-26. Cosme has recently been representing Puerto Rico and made her senior international debut in May 2025.Â
Â
"Everyone has been so welcoming so far and I'm excited to just immerse myself in this club and in this community," said Cosme.Â
Â
After appearing in just eight matches over her first two seasons at Duke, Cosme established herself as one of the top center backs in the ACC from 2019-21. The New Hyde Park, New York, native started 59 of her final 62 matches and scored 10 goals with one assist for 21 points. As a senior and team captain in 2020-21, she led all ACC defenders and tied for the team lead with six goals while being named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region First Team.
