DURHAM - Graduate student quarterback Gunnar Holmberg was named the PNC Acheivers Student-Athlete of the Week Award after leading the Duke football program to a 52-33 win over Kansas on Saturday.Â
A native of Wake Forest, N.C., Holmberg scored four rushing touchdowns, matching the school single-game record which has not been achieved since Brandon Connette against Miami in 2013.

Holmberg rushed 17 times for a total of 88 yards and four touchdowns. He completed 22-of-29 passes for a total of 328 yards, resulting in one touchdown and one interception. Following the game, Duke head coach David Cutcliffe shared, "I thought Gunnar played his best game. I thought his decision-making, play-making and accuracy on downfield throws was outstanding."

The Wake Forest-native became the first player in Duke history to throw over 300 yards and have four rushing touchdowns in a single game. This also makes him just the fifth player in the country over the past 15 seasons to accomplish that in a single game against a . In an impressive performance Holmberg led Duke's offense to score 52 points and gain 607 total yards.

Duke stands at 3-1 on the year and opens ACC action on Saturday at North Carolina. Kickoff at Kenan Memorial Stadium is set for 12 noon and the game will be televised by ESPN2.
