DURHAM – New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones and rookie New York Jets safety Michael Carter II highlighted the 10 former Blue Devils that appeared during the second week of play in the National Football League.

Jones put together a strong performance on Thursday night at Washington, going 22-of-32 passing for 249 yards and one touchdown. He also utilized his legs, rushing nine times for 95 yards (10.6) and a score. The Giants came up short to the Washington Football team as the hosts made a 43-yard field goal to win, 30-29, with no time remaining.

Carter II continues to have a strong start to the season, posting eight tackles and a tackle for loss in the Jets' 25-6 loss at New England. Carter II ranks third on the Jets with 13 tackles through the organization's first two games. He is tied for the team lead in tackles for loss (two) and passes defended (one) as well.

Also in the Jets' contest at New England, former Duke long snapper Thomas Hennessy started for New York and helped the special teams unit connect on two field goals of 21 and 35 yards.

Another strong performance was from Tampa Bay Buccaneers' cornerback Ross Cockrell recorded three tackles in the defending champions' 48-25 win over Atlanta on Sunday.

Laken Tomlinson was solid for the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, starting at left guard. Tomlinson was on the field for every offensive snap, helping the offense amass 306 yards in the 23-18 win at Philadelphia.
