DURHAM – Duke University women's golf alumnae Sarah LeBrun Ingram and Jean Bartholomew are set to compete in the 2021 U.S. Senior Women's Open Championship July 29 through Aug. 1 at Brooklawn Country Club in Fairfield, Conn.
The field will include 120 golfers to open the championship with the low 50 scorers and ties advancing after 36 holes. There will be 72 holes of stroke play over four days.
Ingram qualified for the championship after earning medalist honors at the Salisbury, N.C., qualifying site held at the Country Club of Salisbury, where she shot a 73. Bartholomew was exempt from qualifying.
A 1988 Duke graduate, Ingram was a two-time All-America with the Blue Devils in 1987 and 1988. She is a three-time U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Champion and three-time Curtis Cup team member. Ingram will captain the 2021 U.S. Curtis Cup squad Aug. 26-28 in North Wales.
Bartholomew, a 1989 Blue Devil graduate, played on the LPGA Tour from 1996-2007, while also spending time on the Ladies European Tour, Japan LPGA and Asian Tour.
The championship is open to any female professional or amateur who is 50 years of age on or before July 29 and whose Handicap index does not exceed 7.4.
Golf Channel will air the final two days of action on July 31 from 2-5 p.m., and Aug. 1 from 2-5 p.m.
