DURHAM – All six members of the Duke women's golf team have received Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar accolades following the 2020-21 campaign. Senior
Jaravee Boonchant, junior
Gina Kim, sophomore
Megan Furtney, sophomore
Erica Shepherd, freshman
Phoebe Brinker and freshman
Anne Chen all were honored.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics as student-athletes must hold a minimum of a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50.
Duke has received three or more selections in each of the last six seasons.
Boonchant, who hails from Bangkok, Thailand, became the third Blue Devil to earn Scholar All-American over each of her four seasons with the Blue Devils joining Leona Maguire and Virginia Elena Carta. It marked the third straight season Kim has been honored, while both Furtney and Shepherd earned recognition for the second consecutive year.
As a team, Duke won the ACC Championship to go along with wins at the Gamecock Intercollegiate and the Cavalier Match Play. The Blue Devils went on to advance to the semifinals of match play at the NCAA Championship.
