PINEHURST, N.C. — A trio of Duke women's golfers –
Phoebe Brinker,
Megan Furtney and
Gina Kim – will compete this week in the Pinehurst North & South Women's Amateur, which will be contested on July 13-17 on the No. 2 and No. 4 courses in Pinehurst, N.C.
The golfers will play 36 holes of stroke play qualifying on July 13-14, before cutting the field to the top 32 for match play. Beginning at 7 a.m., on Thursday, July 15, the round of 32 of match play will take place, while the round of 16 and quarterfinals will be contested on July 16 and the semifinals and championship will be played July 17.
Brinker, a rising sophomore from Wilmington, Del., will open action for the Blue Devils on the No. 2 course on Tuesday, July 13 at 7:50 a.m., along with Catherine Park and Morgan Baxendale. Teeing off at 8:10 a.m., on No. 2 will be Furtney, a rising junior out of St. Charles, Ill., with Lauren Greenlief and Kelly Sim. Kim, a native of Chapel Hill, N.C., will tee off on No. 4 at 9 a.m., with Haylin Harris and Nicole Gal.
Both Kim and Furtney advanced to match play in the 2020 Pinehurst North & South Amateur with Kim moving on to the round of 16.
