Shepherd Closes Action on Symetra Tour

FRENCH LICK, Ind. — As the only amateur in the field, Duke University women's golf rising junior Erica Shepherd carded rounds of 74, 70 and 75 over three days at the Donald Ross Classic on her way to finishing in a tie for 61st at the 6,516-yard, par-71 French Lick Resort – Donald Ross Course in French Lick, Ind.
Seeing action in her home state of Indiana, Shepherd posted two birdies on Thursday on her way to shooting a 3-over, 74. She came back to card a 1-under-par, 70, in round two to move up to a tie for 53rd with three birdies.
Shepherd, who hails from Greenwood, Ind., was even par through seven holes in Saturday's final round, but struggled on the way in to finish with a 75. She finished with four birdies on the day, including three on the final nine. Shepherd missed only 10 greens over the final 36 holes of action.
She finished the three-day stretch with a total of 219. Casey Danielson collected the victory with a 10-under, 203.
