DURHAM – Duke announced Tuesday the promotional themes for the 2021 football season.
Durham Night will kick things off on Friday, Sept. 10 when the Blue Devils host North Carolina A&T in their home opener. Durham residents should be on the lookout for special offers in the upcoming weeks.
Â
The following weekend when Duke takes on Northwestern (Saturday, Sept. 18), the Blue Devils will host Iron Dukes Day, Former Player Day, Scout Day and Employee Appreciation Day. This will be a special day to recognize the many contributions that our Iron Dukes members and former players have given to the Duke football program. The day will also be celebrating all Duke employees that make the university so great. Scouts of all levels are also invited to attend the game and participate in special events with an exclusive ticket package just for them.
Â
Duke's final contest of its three-game home stretch will be on Saturday, Sept. 25 against Kansas. The Blue Devils will celebrate Healthcare Appreciation Day and the Class of 2020. Along with honoring the Class of 2020's accomplishments as Duke graduates, the Blue Devils will also have the opportunity to thank all of our Healthcare Heroes for the amazing work they do each and every day, especially for their dedication the last 18 months.
Â
Duke's home contest against Georgia Tech on Saturday, Oct. 9 will feature Youth Sports Day, Cheer Day and Teacher Appreciate Day. Youth athletes and cheerleaders from across the state will join the Blue Devils for a day of football and special experiences at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium. Duke will also be recognizing the invaluable contributions to the community as we celebrate teachers.
Â
Homecoming and Military Appreciation Day presented by Navy Federal Credit Union is set for Saturday, Nov. 6 when Duke welcomes Pittsburgh. The Blue Devils are excited to welcome back to campus Duke alumni, who've stayed home, masked up and stood apart for over a year, for the best fall weekend. It's also always a special time when the Blue Devils get to welcome military members from across the region to a game. Fans can purchase special 'Salute A Soldier' tickets in our Heroes Corner section for only $10 each that will be donated directly to these brave men and women to bring their families out and cheer on Duke
Â
The final home game of the regular season, a November 27th tilt with Miami, will serve as Senior Day. Be sure to get in the stadium early as the Blue Devils will celebrate this year's Duke football senior class.
