BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced its 2020 All-Region teams as freshman
Darcy Bourne and graduate student
Eva Nunnink represented the Duke field hockey team among the 32 All-South Region selections, as announced by the organization on Tuesday morning.
Bourne and Nunnink were named First Team All-South Region, marking the first all-region honors of their Duke careers.
During her rookie campaign, Bourne started all 16 games while leading the Blue Devils with eight goals, 17 points and 46 shots. The ACC Freshman of the Year and All-ACC First Team honoree went on a four-game goal streak in which she tallied five of her eight goals. The Esher, England, native finished fourth in the league in shots and goals and seventh in points.
Nunnink, a native of Eindhoven, Netherlands, proved to be a threat both offensively and defensively in her first season as a Blue Devil. The defender started all 16 games of the 2020-21 campaign, tallying eight points on three goals and two assists. An All-ACC First Team selection, she finished fifth in the league in shots (43) and sixth in shots per game (2.69).
