DURHAM, N.C. – With the ACC Tournament in the rearview mirror, the Duke women's lacrosse team turns its attention to NCAA postseason action. The Blue Devils await their tournament fate Sunday night on ESPNU at 9 p.m.
The championship provides for a field of 29 teams to compete in a single-elimination tournament. Sixteen conference champions qualify automatically; the balance of the field is selected at-large by the NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Committee. The top eight teams in the 29-team bracket for the championship are seeded. The top three teams receive first-round byes.
Duke in the NCAA Tournament
Duke looks to make its 20th NCAA Tournament appearance and the first time since 2016. The Blue Devils own a 24-19 overall record on the big stage that includes 15 quarterfinal and seven semifinal appearances. Duke last made the semifinals in 2015 and owns an 11-game win streak in first round games.

First NCAA Tournament Berth for the Squad
If selected, the Blue Devils will receive their first NCAA Tournament berth since 2016 and the first appearance for the 2021 squad.
Under head coach
Kerstin Kimel, Duke has produced 19 tournament appearances and reached the semifinals four consecutive times (2005-2008). The Blue Devils have reached the quarterfinals in 11 of their last 12 appearances and the semifinals in six of their last 12.
Jenner Tabbed Tewaaraton Honoree
Junior attacker
Maddie Jenner was named one of 25 women's nominees for the 2021 Tewaaraton Award.
Jenner has continued her dominance at the draw circle in 2021 and owns 161 draw controls this spring. The Annapolis, Md., native leads the ACC with 10.06 draw controls/game and is ranked second in the nation as she owns 345 career draws. Jenner has tallied a season-high 15 three times this season, just one off her career high.
In addition to her draw dominance, Jenner has worked hard to contribute to the team beyond the circle. This season, she has 24 goals and an assist for 25 points, which includes a career-high four goals in Duke's wins over William & Mary and Liberty. The 6-2 junior has also grabbed 12 ground balls and caused two turnovers as she boasts a .533 shooting percentage this spring.
