DURHAM – On Tuesday, the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced its watch list for the 2020-21 Division I Jackie Steinmann WGCA National Coach of the Year Presented by Golf Pride, which includes Duke head coach
Dan Brooks.
Brooks, who is in his 37th season with the Blue Devils, is one of 20 on the watch list as Duke heads to Scottsdale, Ariz., for the NCAA Championship.

Brooks has led the Blue Devils to a No. 2 overall ranking and three victories on the year – Gamecock Intercollegiate, Cavalier Match Play and at the ACC Championship. He led Duke to his 21st ACC Championship in April as the Blue Devils secured the No. 1 seed in stroke play and then defeated Florida State and Virginia in match play. Brooks guided Duke to a No. 1 overall seed in the Columbus Regional where the Blue Devils placed tied for second. It marked the 14th time out of the last 21 years the Blue Devils were selected as a No. 1 seed in regional play.
The NCAA all-time leader in wins as a head coach, Brooks now owns 140 victories over his Blue Devil career.
Brooks is a seven-time National Coach of the Year selection – 2019, 2014, 2007, 2005, 2002, 2001 and 1999. He has also led the Blue Devils to seven NCAA titles in 2019, 2014, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2002 and 1999.
Duke will open the 2021 NCAA Championship Friday, May 21 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
