Florida State is No. 1, while Wake Forest, Baylor, Southern California, Arizona State, South Carolina, Mississippi, Duke, LSU and Virginia are in the top 10.
A product of Greenwood, Ind., Shepherd secured her first collegiate title at the Gamecock Intercollegiate last week as she turned in rounds of 69, 70, and 70 for a 54-hole ledger of seven-under-par, 209, at the Columbia Country Club. She led the field with 14 birdies and her seven-under, 209, was a career low. Shepherd owns a 71.33 stroke average to go along with four rounds of even or under par on the season.
In the individual rankings, Shepherd is No. 1 behind Florida State's Beatrice Wallin. Blue Devil freshman
Phoebe Brinker ranks No. 95, while freshman
Anne Chen is No. 110.
The Blue Devils will next compete in the Valspar Augusta Invitational March 13-14 in Augusta, Ga., at the Forest Hills Golf Club.
