DURHAM, N.C. – Fresh off competition at the ACC Indoor Championships, two Duke women's track & field student-athletes have qualified for the 2021 NCAA Indoor Championships.

Erin Marsh and
Leigha Torino will represent the Blue Devils from March 11-13 at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark. Marsh will compete in the 60-meter hurdles and the pentathlon, while Torino will compete in the 800m.
Marsh and Torino enter the NCAA Indoor Championships following a prolific showing at the ACC Indoor Championships. Marsh took a home a silver medal in the high jump and a silver medal in the 60m hurdles, earning All-ACC First Team honors in both events and adding an All-ACC Second Team nod in the long jump. Torino garnered All-ACC Second Team honors as well, following a sixth-place finish in the 800m.
Marsh earns her third career selection to the NCAA Indoor Championships in the pentathlon and first in the 60m hurdles. While unable to compete at the 2020 NCAA Indoor Championships because of the cancellation of the event due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Marsh finished in 16
th place in the pentathlon in 2019 with 3,883 points. This season, Marsh owns the best mark in the ACC and fourth highest pentathlon point total in the country with 4,185. In competing in two NCAA events this year, Marsh becomes the first Blue Devil woman to do so since
Shannon Rowbury (Mile/3000m) and
Liz Wort (3000m/DMR) in 2007.
Torino earns her first career qualification to the NCAA Indoor Championships, following a record-setting performance at the ACC Indoor Championships. Her run in the 800m final of 2:05.20 ranks fourth all-time at Duke and was the 13
th fastest time among all 800m NCAA participants this season. Torino becomes the first Blue Devils qualifier in the 800m since
Madeline Kopp in 2017.
Marsh will start the action on March 11 with her first events in the pentathlon, while Torino is set to run the 800m on March 12. More information on the NCAA Indoor Championships, including start lists and event times, can be found on GoDuke.com closer to the date of the event.
