DURHAM, N.C. – Duke women's soccer alumna
Ella Stevens enters her second season in the professional ranks after signing with the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) in October of 2020.
The 24th overall pick in last year's NWSL Draft, Stevens saw limited action in the 2020 Challenge Cup before making her debut in the NWSL Fall Series on Oct. 10.
The Grayson, Ga., native finished her Duke career ranked sixth in program history with 82 points, while her 24 goals and 34 assists each stands in the top five all-time among Blue Devils. Stevens was a three-time All-Region honoree and was named second-team All-ACC as a senior in 2019.
Duke Communications caught up with Stevens to get her perspective on returning to play during the COVID-19 pandemic, what areas of her game she is working to improve and what she looks forward to in the upcoming NWSL season.
