DURHAM – Four members of the Duke men's soccer program will take part in the 2021 adidas MLS College Showcase, as Major League Soccer announced its list of 44 collegiate players who will attend the event from Dec. 10-12 in Cary, N.C.

Ian Murphy, sophomore
Thorleifur Ulfarsson and freshman
Shakur Mohammed will participate in the three-day event, which will be attended by technical staff from every MLS club. The event features training sessions, testing, interviews, as well as match play and does not affect players' collegiate eligibility.

The Blue Devils feature the largest contingent of players in the nation at the event, matched only by Saint Louis, who will also send four players. Created in 2019, the event is in its second year, after a one-year hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hamill and Murphy anchored a standout defensive season, with Hamill playing 18 games at goalkeeper, posting a 12-5-1 record, 71 saves, 1.24 goals against average and a .755 save percentage, while Murphy played every game at center back, notching two assists. Mohammed and Ulfarsson formed a dynamic duo up top, with Ulfarsson recording 15 goals and one assist for 31 points, while Mohammed had a team leading seven assists, along with three goals for 13 points.

The eligible player list for the 2022 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas will be announced at a later date following the 2021 adidas MLS College Showcase.
