MOBILE, Ala. – Lindy Duncan and
Gina Kim of the Duke women's golf program will move on to week two of LPGA Q Series, after finishing in the top 70 of week one of action at Magnolia Grove Crossings and Falls Courses in Mobile, Ala.
The Blue Devils will now face another 72-hole stroke play event, which takes place Dec. 9-12
at Highland Oakes Golf Club in Dothan, Ala.
Kim, a product of Durham, N.C., turned in rounds of 70, 72, 71 and 73 for an even-par, 286, which was tied for 52nd. She played her final 13 holes at 1-under-par to close strong and finish above the cut line. Kim notched four birdies on the day – No. 1, No. 6, No. 9 and No. 16.
With scores of 72, 71, 74 and 70 over four days, Duncan placed tied for 62nd. Duncan saved her best for last as she carded five birdies and shot 2-under on Sunday to move up above the cut line.
Virginia Elena Carta missed the cut with rounds of 78, 74, 76 and 70 for a 298.
Pauline Roussin-Bouchard currently leads the individual action with a 19-under, 267.
Following the two weeks of Q Series, golfers finishing Nos. 1-45 and ties will receive 2022 LPGA Tour status; players finishing outside the top 20 and ties will also receive 2022 Symetra Tour status. There will also be a purse of $150,000 for the event as well.
