DURHAM – The Duke men's soccer program has earned several more postseason awards, as College Soccer News has released its list of All-Americans, while TopDrawerSoccer has also announced its postseason honors on Tuesday.
Â
Sophomore Thorleifur Ulfarsson has been named a first team All-American by CSN, while sophomore Peter Stroud was tabbed as a third team honoree. Stroud was also named to the TDS Best XI first team, while freshman Shakur Mohammed was honored as a first team Best XI freshman recipient.
Â
Ulfarsson and Stroud match their honors earned earlier this fall by the United Soccer Coaches and add another to their highly decorated sophomore campaigns. Ulfarsson, the 2021 ACC Offensive Player of the Year, finished with one of the top goal scoring seasons in Duke history, registering 15 goals and one assist for 31 points, while giving the Blue Devils a first team All-American for the first time since Andrew Wenger in 2011.
Â
Stroud, the 2021 ACC Midfielder of the Year, brings home his first Best XI first team honor, after being named to the TDS Best XI freshman team last season. The Chester, N.J., native set career highs in goals and assists this season with four each, for a total of 12 points, while becoming one of the top two-way players in the nation.
Â
Mohammed adds another top freshman award, after being named to CSN's All-Freshman first team on Monday. The Kumasi, Ghana native registered 13 points on the season, tallying three goals and seven assists to rank second on the team in points, while also being named the ACC Freshman of the Year to headline several individual honors.
