DURHAM – For those Blue Devil golf fans looking to attend
Dan Brooks induction into the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) Hall of Fame on Dec. 1, 2021, at the Country Club of North Carolina in Southern Pines, N.C., tickets are still being sold.
Brooks will be inducted along with Dorathy Dotger Thigpen and Frank Ford III. For those interested in attending the induction, the cost is $125 a person. Cocktails begin at 6 p.m., while dinner will start at 7 p.m. To reserve your spot, contact Braxton McLennan at bmclennan@live.com.
The ceremony was originally set to take place on April 8, 2020, but has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In his 38th season as the head women's golf coach at Duke, Brooks has captured a remarkable seven national titles in the last 23 seasons with the Blue Devils, in addition to 21 career ACC championships and 140 team wins – the most of any women's golf coach in NCAA Division I history.
Brooks, a native of Baker City, Ore., is a seven-time National Coach of the Year and 16-time ACC Coach of the Year selection. His seven national championships are the most by any Division I head coach in history. Brooks has led Duke to 14 top-10 finishes at the NCAA Championship since 2004 and 18 total top five placements in school history. He has guided 20 individuals to ACC crowns, 38 to All-ACC selections and 26 All-Americans.
An Oregon State graduate, Brooks is also a member of the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) and Duke Hall of Fame.
