DURHAM – The Duke men's soccer program is returning to the NCAA Championship for the first time since 2018, having been selected as the No. 7 seeded team in this year's tournament.

48 teams were selected into the single-elimination field, with the top-16 teams in the nation earning a seed and bye through to the second round.
The Blue Devils (13-4-1, 5-2-1 ACC) received a first round bye and will play the winner of UCLA (10-6-1, 5-4-1 Pac-12) and UC Santa Barbara (12-4-4, 6-1-2 Big West) on Sunday, Nov. 21 at 1 p.m., in Koskinen Stadium.

The winner of Sunday's game will face either 10th-seeded Saint Louis, Maryland, or Long Island in the third round.

The Blue Devils enter the NCAA Championship on the heels of the program's first ACC Championship final appearance since 2006. The team boasts the 2021 ACC Offensive Player of the Year,
Thorleifur Ulfarsson, Midfielder of the Year,
Peter Stroud, and Freshman of the Year,
Shakur Mohammed.

Duke men's soccer is 31-25-2 all-time in the NCAA Championship, headlined by the program's national title in 1986. The Blue Devils are headed to their seventh NCAA Championship under head coach
John Kerr.

First round matches will commence on Nov. 18, followed by all second round matches on Nov. 21. Third round games will take place Nov. 27-28, with the quarterfinals set for Dec. 3-4. The 2021 NCAA College Cup will run from Dec. 10-12 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.
