DURHAM – Duke fencing head coach
Alex Beguinet announced the 2022 competition schedule Monday. The spring slate features four regular season meets, including the annual home meet. Duke will also serve as the host site for the ACC Championship.
Both the men and women will kick off the 2022 season Jan. 16 at the Penn State Duals before heading back to the state of Pennsylvania for the Philadelphia Invitational on Jan. 22, hosted by UPenn. The Blue Devils will close out the month of January at the Eric Sollee Invitational Jan. 30 in Cambridge, Mass.
The Blue Devils will start the month of February with the annual Duke Meet to compete in front of their home crowd Feb. 12-13.
Duke will then turn its attention to the postseason beginning with hosting the ACC Championship Feb. 26-27 in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
In 2021, the Blue Devils swept the ACC team titles and captured a program-record 11 individual medals as Duke won five of the six solo crowns.
Next on the slate for Duke's qualifiers will be the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/South Regional March 12.
The 2022 campaign will conclude at the NCAA Championship March 24-27, hosted by Notre Dame. Eight of Duke's 10 2021 national qualifiers return this season and all earned All-America accolades a season ago.
