No. 4 Duke wraps up a three-game home stand on Sunday, Oct. 10 when it hosts Pittsburgh at Koskinen Stadium.
The match kicks off at 2 p.m. on ACC Network Extra with Ryan Craig and Cedric Burke on the call.
The Blue Devils were dealt their second loss of the season and first home defeat on Thursday, Oct. 7, falling to NC State in double overtime, 2-1.
Duke entered Thursday's match with a 6-0-0 record at Koskinen Stadium this season and was 8-0-1 over its last nine home games dating back to September 2020.
A win on Sunday would be head coach Robbie Church's 100th career ACC regular-season victory. Church is 99-62-33 in conference matches since arriving at Duke in 2001.
Junior goalkeeperRuthie Jones ranks second in the ACC in save percentage this season (.811) and is tied with former standout EJ Proctor for the lowest goals against average in Duke program history (0.65, minimum 20 games played).
Senior Mackenzie Pluck is tied for fifth in the ACC with five assists this season and ranks fourth with 3.18 shots per game. Pluck has assists in each of Duke's last three matches.
Freshman Michelle Cooper leads the team with six goals and 15 points in eight games this season. She is the first player in program history to score six times over her first six career matches.
Graduate student Tess Boadescored her fourth goal of the season in the second half against NC State. Boade has now recorded 10 or more points in each of the last three seasons.
Duke's 8-1-1 start to the season tied for the second-best record through 10 games in program history. Only the 2011 and 2017 Blue Devils (9-1-0 each) had better marks.
The Blue Devils are ranked No. 4 in this week's United Soccer Coaches national poll, marking the 23rd consecutive poll that Duke held a spot in the top 10.
DUKE VS. PITTSBURGH
Duke and Pittsburgh have squared off five times since the first meeting in 2013, with the Blue Devils earning a win in each matchup.
The Panthers are the only team in the ACC that Duke is unbeaten and untied against in an all-time series.
Sunday's match will be the first time the two teams have played one another since Sept. 24, 2017 -- a 2-0 win for the Blue Devils at Koskinen Stadium.
Duke received goals from seniors Ashton Miller and Kayla McCoy in that matchup, which gave the fourth-ranked Blue Devils their 10th win in a row.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
Pittsburgh enters Sunday's contest with an 8-5-0 record and a 1-4-0 mark in ACC play.
The Panthers are coming off back-to-back one-goal losses to ranked opponents, dropping a 2-1 decision to No. 19 Virginia Tech on Oct. 2 before a 1-0 defeat at the hands of No. 5 North Carolina on Oct. 7.
Pittsburgh boasts a potent attack as its 31 goals on the season are tied for fourth in the ACC while its 37 assists rank third.
Freshman Sarah Schupansky paces the team with 16 points (six goals, four assists), which are second-most among ACC freshmen this season.
All-ACC forward Amanda West has also scored six times for the Panthers with three assists in her junior campaign, but has been out of the lineup for the last two games. West led the NCAA with 33 points in the 2020-21 season.
Pittsburgh features 14 players who have scored at least once this season.
Senior Katherine Robinson has started 11 matches in goal, including each of the team's last seven contests. The Albuquerque, N.M., native is tied for fifth in total saves (42) and tied for fourth in saves per game (3.82) in the ACC.
LAST TIME OUT: NC STATE 2, DUKE 1 (2OT)
The Blue Devils suffered their first home loss of the season in a 2-1 double-overtime result against NC State on Thursday, Oct. 7.
It marked the first loss in overtime for Duke since Aug. 18, 2017 at North Carolina. The Blue Devils were 5-0-15 in their previous 20 matches that went past regulation time.
Jameese Joseph scored the game-winner for the Wolfpack with 19 seconds remaining in the second overtime period on a solo counterattack. Joseph took a long clearance in stride at midfield and raced toward the 18-yard box before dribbling past two defenders and placing her shot inside the right post.
Graduate student Tess Boade opened the scoring in the 48th minute with her fourth goal of the season. Boade accepted a pass from senior Mackenzie Pluck just inside the box and slipped her attempt between the legs of Wolfpack goalkeeper Maria Echezarreta.
NC State found the equalizer just four minutes later, when a ball played into the box by Emika Kawagishi was answered with a one-timer into the right corner of the net from Annika Wohner.
The Blue Devils outshot NC State 21-6, but were only able to land four on goal with Echezarreta stopping three.
The match marked the first time this season that Duke allowed two goals.
CHURCH SEEKING 100TH ACC WIN
A win against Pittsburgh on Sunday would mark 100 career victories in ACC play for head coachRobbie Church.
Church is 99-62-33 in regular-season conference matches since arriving at Duke in 2001.
The winningest coach in program history, Church currently owns a 264-133-60 record in his 21st season at Duke.
Duke has finished in the top five of the ACC standings nine times under Church, earning regular season titles in 2011 and 2017.
He has led Duke to the NCAA Tournament in 17 of the last 18 seasons, including each of the last six years.
STORMING OUT OF HALFTIME
The Blue Devils have outscored their opponents 15-4 in the second half of games this season, with seven of those goals coming in the first 10 minutes after the break.
Tess Boade'sgame-winner at North Carolina on Sept. 17 was scored at the 54:58 mark.
In the season opener against Arkansas, Duke scored each of its two penalty kick goals in the first six minutes out of halftime to build a 3-1 lead.
Duke's opening goals in the wins over Washington (Aug. 22) and Vanderbilt (Aug. 29) were each netted in the 53rd minute.
Boade got Duke on the board in the 48th minute against NC State on Oct. 7. Each of her four goals this season have come in the second half.
The Blue Devils have outshot opponents 108-34 in the second half.
Duke is 7-1-0 when scoring first this season and 4-2-1 when the match is tied at halftime.
