DURHAM ā The Duke men's and women's golf programs are a combined five tournaments into the fall campaign and have raised $3,450.50 for the Duke Children's Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units, via the Birdies for Babies program.
Blue Devil fans are encouraged to sign up now to help support Duke Children's.
In year five of the Birdies for Babies program, which raises money to go towards the Duke Children's Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units, the Blue Devils have brought in a total of $73,474.30. Ā
Sophomore Ian Siebers has paced the Blue Devil men's golf team so far early in the fall with an impressive 68.33 stroke average in two appearances.Ā Duke will next compete in the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Oct. 22-24 in Alpharetta, Ga. Ā
On the women's golf side, sophomore
Erica Shepherd was honored this week with ACC Co-Golfer of the Month honors for September, after turning in a strong finish at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate.Ā Blue Devil fans will have a chance to watch the women locally in Chapel Hill, N.C., next when Duke competes in the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invitational Oct. 15-17. Ā
Those looking to support Duke's partnership with Duke Children's can make pledges per birdie.Ā Pledges will start at $0.50 and high pledge increments are welcome.Ā If the Blue Devils register an eagle (counts as two birdies), albatross (three birdies) and hole-in-one (four birdies) they will count as stated.
