DURHAM – Duke University junior
Erica Shepherd has been tabbed the ACC Women's Golf Co-Golfer of the Month for September, after an impressive season-opening finish at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate.
Shepherd, who hails from Greenwood, Ind., collected rounds of 68, 72 and 70 over three days in Lake Elmo, Minn., to open the 2021-22 campaign at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate. She placed fourth overall and helped the Blue Devils to a second-place team ledger at 7-under-par against one of the top fields in the nation.
The top-5 finish for Shepherd marked her second top-5 placement of her career and the 54-hole ledger of 210 was one shy of a career low. She turned in three under-par rounds and finished with a 6-under score overall.
Shepherd, an All-America selection a year ago, shared the honor along with Krista Junkkari of North Carolina.
Duke will next compete in the Tar Heel Invitational Oct. 15-17 at Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C.
