WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Duke dropped a 45-7 decision to No. 13 Wake Forest on Saturday afternoon at Truist Field.

The Demon Deacons compiled 677 yards of total offense and scored on eight of their opening 10 drives. The Blue Devils registered 315 yards of offense and saw freshman quarterback Riley Leonard score their lone touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter. Leonard's score was the first career touchdown for the Fairhope, Ala., native. He finished 2-of-6 passing for 45 yards and added 39 yards rushing on six carries in his third career contest.

Senior running back Mataeo Durant pulled within 27 rushing yards of reaching 1,000 on the season after accumulating 103 yards on 20 carries in Saturday's contest. The McCormick, S.C., native surpassed the 100-yard rushing mark for the sixth time this season to tie him with four others for the Duke single-season program record.

Graduate student quarterback Gunnar Holmberg started the game for Duke and went 10-of-18 for 110 yards. Junior wide receiver Jalon Calhoun led the receiving corps with three catches for 50 yards, including a 39-yard reception in the fourth quarter. Â

Redshirt senior cornerback Leonard Johnson compiled a team-best nine tackles, while redshirt junior linebacker Shaka Heyward and sophomore safety Da'Quan Johnson earned six tackles apiece. Heyward chipped in with team-high 1.5 tackles for loss.
Duke is back at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 6, when it welcomes Pittsburgh for a noon kick on ACC Network.
