DURHAM – The Duke softball program has been recognized for its academic performance from the 2021 season, as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) has named 14 Blue Devils to its list of Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes.

Brianna Butler and
Kendyl Lange, current graduate students
Jameson Kavel and
Peyton St. George, seniors
Deja Davis,
Caroline Jacobsen and
Kyla Morris, juniors
Felise Collins and
Kamryn Jackson and sophomores
Julia Boyet,
Claire Davidson,
Francesca Frelick and
Lillie Walker.
To qualify for the honor, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher over the fall 2020 and spring 2021 semesters.
The 14 honorees set a program record, as the team delivered a combined GPA of 3.545. The awards were not given during the 2019-20 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Butler and Kavel were named for the third time in their collegiate careers, while Jacobsen was named for the second time.
The Blue Devils are set to continue the fall ball slate this weekend, with games against East Carolina on Saturday at 2 p.m., and UNC-Greensboro on Sunday at 1 p.m.
