THE OPENING TIP
- After its last two games have been postponed by the opponents' COVID protocols, No. 21 Duke will look to play the program's 3,100th game on Wednesday night versus Boston College.
- The game tips at 8:30 p.m. ET on ACC Network with Jay Alter and Malcolm Huckabee on the call. On the radio, David Shumate and John Roth have the call on the Blue Devil Sports Network from Learfield IMG College (96.5FM & 610AM in Durham).
- Duke last played Dec. 16 at Notre Dame, and the 20 days between games would mark the second-longest stretch between games in program history. It would trail only a 29-day gap in the 1911-12 season.
- The Blue Devils last played at Cameron Indoor on Dec. 8.
- Duke has played just five games this season, the second fewest among any of the power-five conference teams (Wake Forest, four).
- Wednesday's game marks the 27th in the Duke-Boston College series, with the Blue Devils leading, 23-3, including 11-0 at Cameron Indoor.
- The Blue Devils have deployed a different starting lineup in each game with only sophomore Matthew Hurt starting all five.
- Hurt's 18.8 points per game lead the ACC and are 62nd nationally. He is averaging 20.5 points and 8.3 rebounds over Duke's last four games. The watch list candidate for the Wooden Award and Naismith Trophy has scored 18+ points in four consecutive games this season after having four such games last season.
- Hurt is the ACC's only player ranked in the league's top 10 for scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage and free throw percentage. The sophomore is first in scoring (18.8), sixth in rebounding (8.0), seventh in field goal percentage (.522) and 10th in free throw percentage (.765).
- Senior Jordan Goldwire's 2.6 steals per game lead the ACC and rank 20th nationally. He is also eighth in the ACC in assist/turnover ratio (+1.7) and tied for 13th in assists (3.4).
- With the NBA starting its 2020-21 season, Duke boasts an ACC record 27 players on NBA rosters. The previous conference record for most players on NBA roster was 25 -- set by Duke last season.
- Duke is ranked No. 21 in the AP Poll this week, the 90th consecutive poll the Blue Devils have been ranked in the Top 25. It is the nation's second longest active streak.
- Cameron Indoor Stadium opened on this date -- January 6, 1940 -- a 36-27 win over Princeton. Now in its 82nd season, the Blue Devils are 909-165 (.846) in the historic venue.

Matthew Hurt poured in a career-high 25 points on 10-of-16 shooting, including 5-of-10 from three-point range when the teams met earlier last season at Cameron Indoor -- an 88-49 Duke win on New Year's Eve.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Boston College is 2-7 overall, 0-3 in the ACC, and coming off a 76-64 loss to Louisville on January 2 in Chestnut Hill…The balanced Eagles have seven players averaging 7.0+ points, led by junior Wynston Tabbs' 15.6 points and .451 field goal percentage…Second leading scorer Jay Heath (13.5) has scored 16+ in three straight games, including 20 points (4-of-6 from three point range) in the Louisville game…Tabbs has yet to face the Blue Devils, having missed the final 16 games of his freshman season and all of last season with an injury.

Due to schedule changes as a result of COVID-19 protocols, Duke has already had five games canceled or postponed a total of six times…The Blue Devils' season-opener versus Gardner-Webb was initially postponed due to COVID issues at GWU. The game was later rescheduled for Dec. 19 and eventually canceled by Duke…Duke's games versus Elon (Dec. 6) and Charleston Southern (Dec. 12) were each postponed due to virus issues with those programs and won't be rescheduled…The latest impacts came this past week when both of Duke's ACC contests were postponed -- Tuesday due to virus issues at Pitt and Saturday due to virus issues at Florida State…Rescheduled dates have not yet been announced…Duke's five games this season are second fewest among any power-five conference team, trailing only the four played by each Wake Forest and South Carolina.

TWENTY DAYS BETWEEN GAMES
Should the Blue Devils' game on Wednesday be played, it will mark 20 days between contests -- the second longest gap between games at Duke in the same season…Duke went 29 days between games in 1911-12 -- Dec. 13, 1911 to Jan. 12, 1912 -- and the current 20-day gap would surpass a trio of 19-day breaks that came in the 1932, 1933 and 1934 campaigns…Duke last played Dec. 16 at Notre Dame -- a 75-65 Duke victory.
AP POLL STREAKS EXTEND
With the release of the Associated Press preseason poll on Nov. 9, Duke was ranked No. 9 -- extending some notable streaks.
The Blue Devils have now been ranked in the top 10 at least once in 25 consecutive seasons -- the longest active streak nationally by a decade (Kansas, 15).
This marks the 13th consecutive season that the Blue Devils have debuted in the top 10.
With Duke at No. 21 in the Jan. 4 poll, the Blue Devils have now been ranked in 90 consecutive polls dating back to 2016, the nation's second-longest active streak.
