DURHAM, N.C. – Following a successful season opener Thursday, the sixth-ranked Duke women's tennis team will compete at the UNC Invitational this weekend as individuals.
The Blue Devils are set to take on NC State Saturday at 1 p.m., in the Sheffield Tennis Center before facing North Carolina Sunday at 9 a.m., in Chapel Hill.
Duke will face some of the top competition in the country this weekend against the Tar Heels and Wolfpack as North Carolina is ranked No. 1 by the ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) followed by NC State at No. 8.
North Carolina features seven players ranked in the top 125 for singles, including three in the top six. The Tar Heels also have three ranked doubles pairings. The Wolfpack have three ranked individuals and two doubles teams.
The Blue Devils are coming off a 7-0 sweep against Charlotte on Thursday as

Karolina Berankova,
Kelly Chen,
Meible Chi,
Georgia Drummy and
Margaryta Bilokin secured singles and doubles wins.
In addition to team rankings, six Blue Devils were featured on the ITA singles, doubles and newcomers list.
Headlining Duke in singles was No. 8 Chen followed by No. 28
Drummy No. 29 Beck, No. 44 Bilokin, No. T95 Berankova and No. 111 Chi.
On the doubles side, Beck and Chen are tied for 34th while Drummy and Berankova checked in at No. 56.
Additionally, the ITA released its list of top 10 newcomers as Berankova is No. 6.
