DURHAM, N.C. – Duke heads to Notre Dame on Saturday for the season opener for both teams.
Kickoff between the Blue Devils and Fighting Irish is set for 2:30 p.m., and the game will be broadcast live on NBC.
Under head coach David Cutcliffe, the Blue Devils are 9-3 in season-openers ... Duke enters this week's Notre Dame game having won seven of its last eight lid-lifters.
Saturday's NBC broadcast will feature Mike Tirico, Tony Dungy, and Jac Collinsworth on the call. The game can also be heard on the Blue Devils IMG Sports Network through the TuneIn app or goduke.com

In 2019, the Blue Devils went 5-7 overall and 3-5 in ACC play ... Highlights from the season were Duke's three straight wins while scoring 40+ points, and its a second consecutive victory over Miami in the season finale.
This season marks the 75th anniversary of Duke's 1945 squad which went 6-4, captured its third straight Southern Conference championship and closed the year ranked No. 13 in the final Associated Press poll ... Coached by Eddie Cameron, the Blue Devils started the year 3-2 before reeling off three consecutive wins over Georgia Tech, N.C. State and North Carolina.
The Blue Devils are 28-143-6 all-time against nationally-ranked opponents (AP poll) including ledgers of 10-59-4 versus top-10 foes and 3-32-2 against top-5 competition.
This year's season-opening game will mark the seventh on the gridiron between the two schools with Notre Dame leading the series, 4-2 ... The Fighting Irish won the first meeting in 1958 but the Blue Devils evened the series in 1961 with a 37-13 victory after racking up 440 yards of total offense and three interceptions ... Duke's other victory in the series came four years ago in South Bend when K AJ Reed nailed a game-winning 19-yard field goal with 1:24 remaining in the fourth quarter ... The Fighting Irish then turned it over on downs at their own 40 with 40 seconds remaining.
Elected by their teammates, five returning lettermen will serve as team captains for the 2020 campaign: S Michael Carter II, TE Noah Gray, RB Deon Jackson, DE Chris Rumph II, and C Jack Wohlabaugh.
Duke is 32-17 in the month of September under Cutcliffe ... on the road, the Blue Devils are 12-5.
Since Cutcliffe took over in 2008, Duke has 72 victories to its name which is 53 more than the program's total in the previous 12 years ... from 1996-2007 the Blue Devils held a .162 (19-117) winning percentage ... over Cutcliffe's 12-year tenure so far Duke holds a .477 (72-79) winning mark ... Duke's ACC record has also seen a rise since Cutcliffe took the helm ... the Blue Devils were just 8-88 (.091) from 1996-2007, but have since improved to 34-62 (.354).
