2000 – Men's Basketball – Grant Hill, former Duke Basketball All-America and five-time All-NBA pick, and his wife Tamia, a four-time Grammy-nominated recording artist with Elektra Records, announced a $1 million gift to Duke University to establish an endowed fund for athletic scholarship support. The Hills' gift, then the largest to the university from a former basketball player, created the Grant & Tamia Hill Scholarship Endowment Fund to provide financial aid for a Duke Basketball player each year.
2012 – Men's Cross Country – The Duke men's cross country team turned in a dominant performance to claim its fourth consecutive team title at the Great American Cross Country Festival at the WakeMed Course in Cary, N.C. Junior Phil Fairleigh paced the Blue Devils, coming in second place overall with a personal-best time of 24:56.8.
September 30
2017 – Softball – Duke softball hosted its first game as a program at the Duke Softball Stadium in front of a 1,300-person crowd. Duke announced the addition of the softball program in December 2013,
Marissa Young was hired as the head coach in July 2015 and the stadium broke ground in May 2016. On the historic day, Duke fell short to neighboring NC State in a 10-inning contest with an 8-3 loss.
October 2
2011 – Men's Golf – Duke fired the only under-par round of the day with a two-under 286 to overcome a two-stroke deficit and win the 2011
Rod Myers Invitational at the Duke University Golf Club. Julian Suri shot the low round of the tournament with a four-under 68 to pace the Blue Devils in the final round and claim medalist honors for the tournament. The Blue Devils posted a three-under 861 overall for a nine-shot victory, while Suri fired a five-under 211 to finish two shots better than Iowa's Steven Ihm.
2017 – Men's Basketball – The official Twitter account of the Duke men's basketball program, @DukeMBB, continued to cement its position atop the college basketball social media landscape when it became the first collegiate athletics team to surpass two million Twitter followers. The Blue Devils' official Twitter account became the first collegiate team account to hit the one-million follower mark in February 2017, and needed just seven months to attract another million fans to the account.
2018 – Men's Golf – Chandler Eaton rolled in a long birdie putt on the 18th hole to secure the individual title, and No. 9 Duke also claimed the team championship at the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational at the Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas. The Blue Devils were the only team in the field of 15 programs, seven of which were ranked, to finish under par. Duke was one-under 279 on Tuesday, finishing the 54-hole event with a two-under par 838. It was the second consecutive team title for Duke, which also claimed the Louisville Collegiate in its previous tournament.
2019 – Men's Cross Country – Junior
CJ Ambrosio earned Co-ACC Men's Runner of the Week and freshman
Zach Kinne received ACC Freshman of the Week after a successful showing at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn. Ambrosio led the Blue Devils and placed third overall with an 8k time of 24:48.1, while Kinne clocked a time of 25:04.4 to place 10th in the field.
October 3
2004 – Women's Golf – Duke won the Mason Rudolph Championship with rounds of 301, 283 and 289 for a three-day ledger of 873. In one of the most remarkable comebacks in school history, the top-ranked Duke women's golf team came back from 12 strokes down after the first round to win by one stroke against defending national champion UCLA at the Mason Rudolph Women's Championship played at the Vanderbilt Legends Club on the 7,200-yard, Par 72 Ironhorse Course in Franklin, Tenn.
