ZÜRICH, Switzerland -- Senior men's golfer
Adrien Pendaries posted an impressive tied for 11th finish by shooting an even-par 284 at the European Amateur Championship, which was contested this week at the Golf & Country Club Zürich.
Pendaries opened the 72-hole championship with a four-under 67 to find himself one back of the lead after the opening round. He posted a 74 in round two before firing in red figures again with a two-under 69 in the third round and closed with a 74 to secure a top 15 finish.
His opening-round 67 featured a bogey-free scorecard, including a birdie on the par-three 14th, a hole he played in three-under for the tournament. The native of France finished the championship with 13 birdies -- nine of which came on the back nine as he played that side in three-under for the week.
Germany's Mattias Schmid defended his 2019 title by finishing three clear of the field with his 11-under 273 to claim the 2020 Euro Amateur title.
Pendaries is set to the return to the United States to join his teammates as they prepare for the 2020-21 season.
