With 14 games in group play in the books in the 2020 Premier Lacrosse League Championship Series, the seven teams move on to the elimination round Tuesday, Aug. 4. Eight of the 14 games were decided by a single goal with former Blue Devil
Brad Smith and the Whipsnakes earning the top seed and bye into the semifinals with a 4-0 record. Overall, 11 Blue Devils are on current PLL rosters.
Here is how the elimination bracket breaks down.

Devitte Tabs Van Raaphorst to Top 10 Breakout List
Cade Van Raaphorst has been excellent in group play, leading the Atlas and the PLL in defensive stats with 15 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers. In his first game of the series, he had two caused turnovers and five groundballs. He registered four and three, respectively, in the next two outings. Kyle Devitte of Inside Lacrosse tabbed Van Raaphorst as one of the 10 breakout players in this PLL season.
"As the lone help defenseman on an embattled defense, van Raaphorst has made the most of his more helpful instincts," writes Devitte.
Brad Smith Makes Professional Debut
Battling injuries in his final season as a Blue Devil and throughout what would have been his first year in the PLL,
Brad Smith finally saw his dream of playing professional lacrosse come true in 2020. He's playing attack for the undefeated Whipsnakes and has six goals and two assists in his four games. He most recently registered a hat trick in a 17-11 win over the Archers. His eight points are tied for 14th in the league.
Wolf Doing It All
Jordan Wolf, as fully expected, has done it all on attack for the No. 2 seed Chrome. Wolf is fourth in the PLL in overall points with 14. He has seven goals and seven assists. He had four points in three of the four games and registered a hat trick in the season-opening win.
His seven goals are tied for sixth in the league, while his seven assists are fourth. Four of those seven assists came in the final victory as he facilitated the offense when he couldn't get on the board himself. In the first meeting with Chaos, Wolf had three goals and an assist.
Guterding Shining in Year No. 2
Justin Guterding, running with Wolf on attack for Chrome, has been a problem for opposing defenses. Guterding is tied for the second most goals in the league with eight and is tied for seventh in the PLL in points. The Garden City, N.Y., native was oddly consistent in the four games, registering two goals and an assist in all four outings. He is one of seven players to have at least five goals and four assists after group play.
