ROCKVILLE, Md. – When the 120th U.S. Women's Amateur Championship kicks off Monday, Aug. 3, it will feature five current members of the Duke women's golf program.

Erica Shepherd,
Phoebe Brinker and
Anne Chen will compete Aug. 3-9 at Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, Md.
A total of 132 golfers will see action over a span of seven days. Duke's five golfers ranks as tied for the second-most among Division I institutions -- USC (6), Duke (5), Stanford (5), Arkansas (4), Wake Forest (4), Alabama (3), Auburn (3), Florida (3), Michigan State (3), Texas (3) and Vanderbilt (3).
Following 36 holes of stroke play qualifying, the field will be reduced to the low 64 scorers. The tournament will then move to six rounds of match play.
Fans will be able to follow the action live on the Golf Channel from Aug. 5-9. From 4-7 p.m., on Aug. 5 and Aug. 6 for the round of 64 and 16 matches. The quarterfinal matches will be aired from 1-4 p.m., on Aug. 7, followed by 11-2 p.m., on Aug. 8 (semifinals) and 1-4 p.m., on Aug. 9 for the championship.
Tee times for the opening two rounds of stroke play qualifying on Aug. 3-4 – Kim (9:05 a.m./1:05 p.m.), Shepherd (9:47 a.m./1:47 p.m.), Furtney (11 a.m./7 a.m.), Brinker (12:34 p.m./8:34 a.m.) and Chen (2:40 p.m./10:40 a.m.).
Duke has three golfers who have won the U.S. Women's Amateur. Virada Nirapathpongporn won in 2003 at the Philadelphia Country Club in Gladwyne, Pa., while Amanda Blumenherst won in 2008 at the Eugene Country Club in Eugene, Ore., and
Hannah O'Sullivan won in 2015 at the Portland Golf Club in Portland, Ore.
