DURHAM, N.C. – Duke tight end Noah Gray was named to the preseason watch list for the 2020 John Mackey Award, presented annually to college football's best tight end, on Friday.
Â
Gray earned a spot on the preseason watch list for the second consecutive season.
Â
In 38 career games, including 12 starts, Gray has totaled 76 receptions for 663 yards and six touchdowns. His 76 receptions are currently tied with Chuck Drulis for ninth all-time in Duke's career receptions by a tight end. He has also recorded 20+ receiving yards in 15 games throughout his career.
Â
Last season, the Leominister, Mass., native proved to be the favorite target of quarterback Quentin Harris as he led the team with 51 receptions. Those 51 catches led ACC tight ends and finished second among Power 5 TEs in addition to being the second most by a tight end in Duke single-season charts. Gray finished second on the team in receiving yards (392) and touchdowns (three).
Â
The recipient of the 2020 John Mackey Award will be announced live on The Home Depot College Football Awards on December 10, 2020.
