Jaravee Boonchant was voted to the second team by members of the organization.
Boonchant earned the honor for the first time in her career, after turning in a 72.31 stroke average in five tournaments in 2019-20. A native of Bangkok, Thailand, Boonchant earned Golfweek Second Team All-America and was an ANNIKA Award Watch List selection. She finished the season ranked No. 14 nationally to go along with two top five and three top 10 finishes.
The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. Despite the cancellation of spring competition during COVID-19, CoSIDA continued its sponsorship of the Academic All-America awards program. Student-athletes were selected based on career statistics.
Over the last three seasons, Boonchant has collected a 71.95 stroke average, which ranks as the third-best in school history. The three-time All-America also owns 49 career rounds of even or under par and helped guide Duke to the 2019 NCAA Championship.
Along with Boonchant earning CoSIDA Academic All-America accolades on the women's side, Duke had three men's selections – Chandler Eaton (men's golf), Eoin Gronningsater (fencing) and Nathaniel Hernandez (swimming & diving).
Boonchant joins Leona Maguire (2017 and 2018) and
Virginia Elena Carta (2019) who also earned Academic All-America honors for Duke women's golf in each of the last four years. Boonchant is a statistics major and owns a 3.62 grade-point average.
She is one of only five Duke women's golfers in school history to be named CoSIDA Academic All-America – Maguire, Carta, Amanda Blumenherst (2007, 2008, 2009) and Michelle Miller (1985)
