DURHAM, N.C. – Over the course of the next few weeks, Duke softball is checking in with its six incoming freshmen who had their high school senior seasons cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The next recruit check-in is with
Sarah Goddard – an outfielder/utility player from Indiana.
As a recruit, what was it like for you to see Duke's success this season?
"Seeing Duke softball's success this year has been really fun to watch, and it just makes me so for next year and being able to be a part of this program that's built for the past three years. Coach Young has done so an amazing job…seeing Coach Brac and Coach Bloomer and how far they've taken the team this year is really encouraging. It's really cool to see how many records they've broken even with such a short season, so Team 3 has just done an amazing job setting the path for Duke softball and I hope next year we can keep going to break even more."
What are you most excited about to come to Duke?
"The whole college experience, meeting new people and definitely growing closer with the team. Even now, I feel like family and I haven't gotten there yet, so I know that once I get there, the relationships are going to be so much closer with the team and the coaches. Getting to know the girls more is what I'm most excited about."
