This week, we profile
Amir Daley of Elmont, New York. Daley, a versatile player who can play both right and left outside back, plays his soccer with New York Red Bulls Academy. He started with the Red Bulls during the 2015-16 season with the U-14 team.
Daley currently plays for the U19 squad and started all 14 games this season as a defender, leading the Red Bulls to a 7-5-2 overall record before play was suspended following its March 8 game. The 5-foot-8 defender also earned experience with U.S. Soccer, earning invitations to train with the U.S. Under -17 Men's National Team numerous times in 2017 and 2018.
Last season, Daley helped the U-17 Red Bulls to a 10-7-5 regular season record and a 1-1-1 mark in the postseason event in Oceanside, Calif. He started all 24 games and played nearly every minute throughout the season. He also earned a start with the U-19 squad during the 2018-19 campaign.
Over the course of his career with the Red Bulls, Daley has played in 89 games with 81 starting assignments. He tallied five goals in his academy career, playing in the back.

GoDuke.com: Why did you choose Duke?
Amir Daley: I chose Duke because it's a very prestigious school known for both athletic and academic success.
GD: What is a fun fact about you?
AD: I only have 3% body fat at the moment.
GD: What International Club do you follow?
AD: Chelsea FC
GD: Who is your favorite international player and why?
AD: Aaron Wan-Bissaka because we have similar play styles and he is one of the best fullbacks in the premier league.
GD: Who is your favorite U.S. player and why?
AD: Tyler Adams because he used to play for New York Red Bulls and I look up to him.
GD: What is your first soccer memory?
AD: I remember on my first day of intramural soccer we were dribbling around and I tripped over the ball in front of everyone and got embarrassed.
GD: Meeting this person would leave you speechless?
AD: Neymar
GD: What are the last three series or shows you've watched on Netflix?
AD: The Office, All-American, Narcos
GD: How are you continuing to work on your game while practicing social distancing?
AD: I've been doing at home workouts using weights and fitness packets my team provided for the players.
GD: At this moment, what would you choose as your hype or goal song?
AD: Dreams and Nightmares by Meek Mill
