Peter Stroud as the latest installment of signee spotlights.

Stroud, a native of Chester, N.J., currently plays his soccer with West Ham United. A center midfielder, Stroud joined West Ham United in the summer of 2018 and has played for the U18 and U23 squads for the past two seasons. Prior to his move to England, he was a member of the New York Red Bulls Academy.

He made his debut with West Ham in a 1-0 victory over Swansea City in 2018 at age 16 and made his first appearance as a sub against the same club in Premier League 2 two months later.

Stroud has been a fixture with the U.S. youth national teams, earning 12 international caps with the U15 squad and 15 for the U17 side. Top Drawer Soccer rates the New Jersey native as a four-star player and 15th among its IMG Academy 150.

He has three older brothers, all three of whom play or played collegiate soccer. Jared Stroud is a current member of the New York Red Bulls in MLS and Will is a member of the Colgate University soccer team.
His oldest brother, Dylan, played soccer at Washington and Lee.

GoDuke.com: Why did you choose Duke?
Peter Stroud: I chose Duke because it is a great school and an exciting program. It will be a young team that is full of energy and enthusiasm to have a successful season, which will be exciting to take part of.

GD: What is a fun fact about you?
PS: I have never gotten a yellow card or red card before.

GD: What International Club do you follow?
PS: Norwich City

GD: Who is your favorite International player and why?
PS: My favorite international player is James Maddison from Leicester City. He is my favorite player because he played for Norwich during the 2017-18 season. He is a young player who brings a lot of energy and creativity to create goals as he did for Norwich in that one season.

GD: Who is your favorite U.S. player and why?
PS: Jared Stroud – my brother and midfielder for the New York Red Bulls.

GD: What is your first soccer memory?
PS: My first soccer memory is playing center back for Players Development Academy U8s.

GD: How are you continuing to work on your game while practicing social distancing?
PS: Going up the field with my brothers and playing every day.
