Over the next few weeks, GoDuke.com and @DukeMGOLF will run a series of features on the favorite holes for each member of the Duke men's golf team. The players and coaches were asked to pick the three favorite holes they've ever played and provide a scouting report on how best to attack them. Be sure to check @DukeMGOLF on Twitter on Instagram each Thursday to cast your vote on each of our players' dream holes!

Sophomore
Quinn Riley gets our Dream Course series started as the Raleigh, N.C., native goes coast to coast for his favorite holes. Riley tees it up first with the par-5 sixth hole at Cypress Point in Pebble Beach, Calif., moves east with the par-3 eighth at Jack Nicklaus' course at Muirfield Village in Ohio, and brings it home right here at Duke with the par-5 ninth hole at the Duke University Golf Club. Check out his scouting reporting on each hole below.
Be sure head to our social accounts (@DukeMGOLF) and vote on your favorite, and follow along as we continue to unveil the @DukeMGOLF's Dream Course.
Riley's #1 Favorite Hole: 6th Hole at Cypress Point GC (Pebble Beach, Calif.) -- 518 yards -- Par 5
In Riley's words: "It's the second par 5 in a row on the front nine and offer a great opportunity to redeem any shots lost or get ahead of the field. I hit driver down the #10 fairway adjacent left of the actual fairway, shortening the dogleg left by a bit. The approach shot is tricky from the left fairway since a slew of bunkers guards the length of the green down the left side. It requires a towering long iron that, if you play it correctly, lands softly and results in a makeable eagle opportunity."
Riley's #2 Favorite Hole: 8th Hole at Muirfield Village GC (Muirfield Village, Ohio) -- 185 yards -- Par 3
In Riley's words: "It's a downhill par-3 that tends to play 160-175 yards. It features a very narrow and elongated island green surrounded by numerous sunken bunkers. A very precise iron shot is required with careful attention to both the wind and elevation to have a chance at a birdie putt. If the pin was in the front, I'd hit a flighted draw 9 iron to the center of the front tier, hopefully giving me a good look at birdie."
Riley's #3 Favorite Hole: 9th Hole at Duke University GC (Durham, N.C.) -- 493 yards -- Par 5
In Riley's words: "The ninth hole at our home course is a very reachable, low-risk par 5 that offers aggressive players the opportunity to make a statement heading into the back nine. The hole is best played with a driving iron out to the end of the dogleg favoring the left side, then a towering long iron shot that falls softly in the middle of the green. From there any pin is fairly accessible for an eagle opportunity."
