Blue Devils Return to Top 10
- Duke traveled over 1,600 miles west, played at altitude against the No. 8 team in the nation and came away with a solid 15-13 victory. The loss was just the 10th setback suffered by Denver at home since 2010.
- Saturday's contest was the 106th top-10 opponent Duke has played since 2007. The Blue Devils improved to 66-40 overall and 26-23 when being the lower ranked team.
- The Blue Devils had eight different goal scorers and 11 different players with at least one point overall. When Duke put its shots on goal, they were strikes as Denver made just six saves in the game.
- Turner Uppgren and Andrew Bonafede made a combined 11 saves Saturday to help Duke to victory. Uppgren had five stops in the opening half and Bonafede made six coming off the bench, including four in the fourth quarter. The 11 saves were a season-high for the Blue Devils.
- Defensively, Duke held Denver scoreless for 18:02 en route to building an 8-2 lead. Tyler Carpenter and JT Giles-Harris both had two caused turnovers and three ground balls.

- Duke got off to another fast start at Denver, outscoring the Pioneers 7-2, en route to the two-goal win.
- The Blue Devils have outscored their opponents 17-7 in the first 15 minutes and outshot them 41-14. The 17 goals are one less than Duke has scored in the third and fourth quarters combined.
Owen Caputo Has a Day
- Sophomore midfielder Owen Caputo had a memorable Saturday in Denver, throwing in three goals and dishing out three assists for a career-high six points as Duke beat the No. 8 Pioneers, 15-13.
- Caputo had a pair of goals and three assists in the opening half and then sealed the victory in the fourth quarter. Prior to Saturday's game, he had two goals and four assists and had yet to record more than a single goal in a game.
Jadon Kerry Joins the Goal Club
- Sophomore Jadon Kerry joined the list of first-time goal scorers at Denver, netting a man-up goal in the first quarter. He is the sixth Blue Devil this season to register his first collegiate goal and the ninth to record his first career point.
Duke's Balance Proving to be Dangerous
- In the past two victories, the Blue Devils' balance on offense has proven to be lethal. Duke had eight different goal scorers this past weekend against the Pioneers and 11 the Saturday prior at High Point. Just three games into the season, 14 Blue Devils have at least one goal, with six of them being first-time goal scorers.
- In Duke's 7-0 run against Denver, six different players scored a goal. Four different Blue Devils provided assists.
- Duke has had three different leading scorers in the trio of outings – Owen Caputo (Denver), Dyson Williams (High Point) and Joey Manown (Air Force).
- The Blue Devils have run three midfield lines each game this season, garnering success from each one. The balance from the three is incredible: First – 9 points, Second – 23 points, Third – 2 points.
Dyson Williams Continues to Shine
- Rookie attackman Dyson Williams continued to show why he has the potential to join the ranks of a top Blue Devil scorer this past weekend with his second consecutive hat trick.
- Williams has seven goals in three games, ranking third among a talented freshman class in the ACC. His 2.33 goals per game average is ninth in the league and second among ACC freshmen.

Lockdown D
- Denver didn't have an answer for the Blue Devils over a span 18:02 over the course of the first and second quarters, the second straight game of a 15-plus minute scoring drought for the opponent. Duke went on a 7-0 run during that stretch, holding Denver to just four shots and forcing three turnovers.
- Helping the cause was the success at the X as sophomore Jordan Ginder won six straight faceoffs. The specialist picked up ground balls on three of those, one was a violation and JT Giles-Harris and Brian Smyth nabbed the others.
- Denver went 0-for-4 on extra man opportunities Saturday, bringing Duke's man down defense percentage to 90. Duke is 9-of-10 in man-down situations this season, tops in the ACC, seventh nationally and tied for the lead among teams that have played three games.
Blue Devils Return to Top 10
- On the strength of their win over No. 8 Denver, the Blue Devils returned to the top 10 at No. 10 in this week's USILA poll. Duke also is ranked 10th by Inside Lacrosse.
- The Blue Devils have five games against teams currently ranked in the top 10, including this weekend's matchup with No. 7 Penn.
