Get to know Derrick Tangelo:
Q: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live? DT: Congo. I'm from there and I haven't been home in a while.
Q: What is the significance behind wearing No. 54? DT: That's just the number they gave me but I like it. I feel like every dog wears 54.
Q:Â What is your favorite home cooked meal? DT:Â My mom's lasagna. You can never beat mom's cooking.
Q:Â If you were stranded on an island, what teammate would you want with you? DT:Â Ken Torain. That's my little bro. We are always together. He would be there to calm me down. He can think on his feet.
Q: What is your favorite Duke football memory on the field? DT: The Miami game my sophomore year. We played them on their homecoming and one of my favorite players, Vince Wilfork, was at the game. I had a big sack in front of him and that was a great moment.
Q: If you went on the Amazing Race, what coach would you want as your teammate? DT: Coach Troop [Trooper Taylor] or Coach Goth [Lanier Goethie]. Coach Troop will talk to anybody and get us all the information. Coach Goth will do the same, but he is more cool-headed.
Q: If you could vacation anywhere where would you vacation? DT: Bora Bora, somewhere where the sand is white, and the ocean is blue.
