DURHAM, N.C. – Former Duke standout Jamison Crowder etched his name on to several exclusive lists during the New York Jets' 23-16 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday.
In the victory over the Browns, Crowder caught seven passes for 92 yards including a 30-yard touchdown reception, rushed once for 14 yards and threw a 43-yard scoring strike to fellow wide receiver Braxton Berrios to become just the fourth NFL player since 1948 to amass 90-plus receiving yards, 40-plus passing yards and 10-plus rushing yards in a game, according to 360.sportradar.com. The last player to achieve the feat was David Patten of the New England Patriots against the Indianapolis Colts in 2002 while the others are Tom Tracy of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1958 (three times) and Billy Ray Barnes of the Philadelphia Eagles, also in 1958.
In addition, Crowder became the 21st player in the National Football League since 1950 to have 30-plus passing and receiving yards as well as one or more passing touchdown and receiving score in a single game per stathead.com. Crowder is the first member of the New York Jets to accomplish the feat. Four players – Odell Beckham Jr., Mark Clayton, Joe Geri and Frank Gifford – reached the milestone twice in their respective careers. Prior to Sunday, the last player to reach the mark was Emmanuel Sanders for San Francisco against New Orleans on December 8, 2019.
One unique element of Crowder's touchdown pass on Sunday: the toss was made with his right hand. Duke fans will remember the Hyundai Sun Bowl against Arizona State on December 27, 2014 – exactly six years ago to the day – when Crowder threw a 12-yard touchdown pass to wideout Issac Blakeney late in the fourth quarter with his left hand.
This season, Crowder leads the Jets in pass receptions (55), receiving yards (668) and receiving touchdowns (6). In five-plus seasons with the Washington Redskins (2015-18) and New York Jets (2019-20), Crowder has played in 83 games and compiled 354 catches for 4,129 yards and 26 touchdowns with five additional scores via rush (4) and punt return (1).
