DURHAM, N.C. – Duke head coach David Cutcliffe announced Monday that offensive lineman Kade Parmelly has signed a financial aid agreement to attend the institution and join the Duke football program.
Parmelly is expected to enroll at Duke in January, 2021 and continue his master's program. He previously graduated from Abilene Christian in 2019 with a degree in kinesiology. During his four seasons in Abilene, Texas, Parmelly appeared in all 40 games for the Wildcats, earning two starts.
A 6-3, 308-pound native of Abilene, Texas, Parmelly found success on the gridiron and in the classroom. He earned multiple honors throughout his career including CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 praise, Second Team Southland Conference All-Preseason honors, and was a two-time Southland Conference All-Academic recipient.
Parmelly will have one season of eligibility remaining beginning with the 2021 campaign.
A 2017 graduate of Abilene Wylie High School, Parmelly helped Wylie reach the Class 4A Division I state championship game while being named an honorable mention Class 4A all-state and all-district selection. In addition, he was also recognized on the all-area team and earned an Abilene Reporter-News All-Big Country Super Team honor. Parmelly was named second team academic all-state as well.
