Redshirt senior offensive tackle Devery Hamilton joined the Blue Devils for his final year of eligibility after spending four seasons at Stanford. The 6'9", 310-pound lineman has started every game and helped Duke produce 1,359 yards on the ground so far this season. A native of Ellicott City, Md., Hamilton also helped the Blue Devils appear in the history books this season as Duke amassed 645 yards of total offense at Syracuse on October 10, the third-most yards in a single game under head coach David Cutcliffe.

Get to know Devery Hamilton:
Q: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live? DH: I would probably go back to my home country of Germany. I do miss it.
Q:Â What is your favorite home cooked meal? DH:Â Mac and Cheese. My mom makes it, but she got the recipe from my grandmother on my dad's side. She was really the first person that showed me what mac and cheese can do for you.
Q:Â If you were stranded on an island, what teammate would you want with you? DH:Â I'm taking someone from the offensive line. I know that they're going to do whatever it takes to get some food. I just have to stick around with them, and they will take me to the food. They're not going to go hungry.
Q: What is your favorite Duke football memory off the field? DH: When we marched in unity to the Duke Chapel in all black during training camp. That was pretty powerful in terms of coming together as a team for a common cause. To take time out of training camp practice to stand up for what we think is right, that shows the level of character we have on this team.
Q: What is your dream sporting event to attend? DH: I would want to go see Serena Williams play in a Wimbledon final.
Q: If you went on the Amazing Race, what coach would you want as your teammate? DH: Coach Frey. He's going to get the job done. He is going to tell you what you need to get the job done. He's going to shoot it straight and I think that is what you need.
Q: If you could vacation anywhere where would you vacation? DH: I would probably want to go back to Australia. We went there my sophomore year with Stanford to play a game. We were there for about a week and it was pretty exciting, but I didn't get to do all the tourist stuff. Some of my teammates got to hold koalas and I didn't get to do that, so I have to go back and get that done.
Q: What is your favorite sweet treat? DH: My grandmother on my mom's side is German and she taught me how to make things called zwetschgenknoedel. They are dumplings with apricot in them, but you can make them with plums or peaches. They are a nice little sweet treat.
