DURHAM, N.C. – The 2020 LPGA campaign is set to open this week at the Four Seasons Golf and Sports Club Orlando for the Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions presented by Insurance Office of America Jan. 16-19 in Orlando, Fla. Duke 2016 graduate Celine Boutier will be one of 26 LPGA Tour winners seeing action this week.
The field includes LPGA Tour winners from the 2018 and 2019 seasons at the Tranquilo Golf Course along with 49 amateurs and celebrities.
The professionals will feature 72 holes of stroke play with no cut and will use a modified stableford scoring format. The golfers will receive points for each of the following – Double-Eagle (10), Hole-in-One (8), Eagle (5), Birdie (3), Par (2), Bogey (1) and Double-Bogey (0).
Boutier, a native of France, is coming off a solid 2019 campaign in which she finished 27th on the LPGA money list with $760,430 earnings. She made the cut in all 13 tournaments she played to close the season, finishing T-25th or better in six of these appearances. Boutier also collected a 4-0 record in her first appearance in the Solheim Cup and to help propel Europe to a 14.5 to 13.5 victory in Gleneagles, Scotland.

Fans will be able to follow the action live on the Golf Channel Jan. 16-17 from 12-3 p.m. On Saturday, from 2-3 p.m., the Golf Channel will air action followed by 3-5 p.m., on NBC. The final round will be televised from 2-3 p.m., on Golf Channel and then from 3-5 p.m., on NBC.
A larger LPGA field will see action the following week in Boca Raton, Fla., for the Gainbridge LPGA at Boca Rio from Jan. 23-26. Duke will feature four former student-athletes on the course – Boutier, Yu Liu, Lindy Duncan and Leona Maguire.
