Cerenord to Play in Spiral Tropical Bowl

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke redshirt senior defensive tackle Edgar Cerenord has accepted an invitation to participate in the 2020 FBS Spiral Tropical Bowl set for Sunday.

He will join senior defensive end Tre Hornbuckle at the fifth annual game that takes place at Spec Martin Memorial Stadium on the campus of Stetson University in DeLand, Fla., with kick off slated for 10:00 a.m.

Cerenord is the second Blue Devil in program history to earn an invitation to the game.

The 6-1, 305-pound redshirt senior played in all 12 games for Duke, making 10 starts. He compiled 26 tackles on the year, 2.0 tackles for loss (five yards), and 1.5 sacks (four yards). The Miami, Fla., native also added two quarterback hurries, one forced fumble and one interception.

In 53 career games at Duke, Cerenord registered 85 tackles, 6.0 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, and two caused fumbles.
