DURHAM, N.C. – Senior
Haley Schleicher of Duke field hockey has been named to the 2020 U.S. Women's National Team roster, as announced by USWNT head coach Caroline Nelson-Nichols on Friday afternoon.
Schleicher previously represented USA on the national stage, playing on the U-17 squad in 2015 before spending two years on the U-19 team (2016-17).
During her career as a Blue Devil, Schleicher appeared in 84 contests in which she recorded 13 goals and five assists for 31 points. Schleicher capped off her senior campaign with All-ACC First Team and NFHCA All-South Region First Team honors after starting all 21 games in the midfield. In 2019, she racked up 18 of her 31 career points from seven goals and four assists.
Schleicher and the team begin competition on Friday, Jan. 24 against No. 1 Netherlands at Karen Shelton Stadium in Chapel Hill, N.C. This will be the second season of the FIH Hockey Pro League.
