DURHAM, N.C. – Following another impressive season, head coach
Chris Pollard and the Duke baseball program are excited to now welcome the 2020 recruiting class. Right-handed pitcher
Adam Boucher is a part of the talented group set to arrive in Durham next fall.
"Adam Boucher is another right-hander with a ton of upside," said Pollard. "He has been up to 93 miles per hour with a long, loose and athletic arm action. He's a really good student, and he goes to the same high school that James Ziemba played at, so there's a lineage there of players coming out of that program and being successful at Duke. Also, he is tremendous in the classroom."
A four-year letterwinner at St. Joseph High School, Boucher comes to Durham as a native of Metuchen, N.J. The talented right-hander received multiple accolades following an impressive junior campaign, including garnering both 2019 All-Division honors and All-Conference honors. Boucher closed out his junior season with a 7-1 record on the mound, sporting a 2.00 ERA across 50.0 innings of work, while collecting 80 strikeouts. A two-way player, he batted at a .380 clip from the plate, registering 32 hits across 2019.
A two-sport athlete, Boucher also competed in basketball during his time at St. Joseph, lettering is sophomore year as a forward. He is regarded as an AP Scholar, while also serving as a member of the National Honor Society and a President's List Scholar.
Boucher is regarded as a top-400 national prospect according to Perfect Game, being listed as the No. 103 right-hander in the country. Additionally, the organization lists Boucher as the 10
th-ranked overall prospect in the state of New Jersey and the sixth-best right-hander pitcher in the state.
