DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women's lacrosse team was tabbed 18th in the Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Yearbook, released Wednesday, Dec. 18. The Blue Devils finished the 2019 season with an 11-8 record while finishing at No. 21 in the final Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Coaches Poll of 2019.
North Carolina, a semifinalist in the 2019 NCAA Tournament, took the top spot followed by defending national champions Maryland. Syracuse, Northwestern and Boston College rounded out the top five spots.
The Duke squad is one of seven ACC teams represented in Wednesday's poll. The Tar Heels, Orange and Eagles placed in the top five. Four other ACC teams appeared in the rankings with Notre Dame at No. 7, Virginia at No. 8, Duke at No. 18 and Virginia Tech at No. 20.
The Blue Devils also received votes in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Preseason poll.
