DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke volleyball team, in partner with the Duke Cancer Institute's Teen and Young Adult Oncology Program, is excited to announce the Digs for Dollars campaign.
On November 7th and November 10th,
the volleyball team is dedicating its game against North Carolina and NC State to raising awareness and support for the DCI program.
"It's easy to support Jessi," Duke volleyball head coach
Jolene Nagel said. "She's a hard worker, she's a lovely person and I'm sure a lot of people wanted to help her through this. But I can totally just see her realizing and being grateful for all that and then wanting to give back."
In February 2019, former Duke volleyball player
Jessi Bartholomew ('19) was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma shortly after finishing her senior season. She recently completed six months of chemotherapy as well as two weeks of radiation and is currently in remission.
Throughout her treatment, the support from Duke Athletics and Duke Cancer Institute was overwhelming for Jessi, her family and friends. Digs for Dollars weekend is an awesome opportunity for you to show your support and raise awareness for other patients like Jessi who are going through tough times.
