LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The 12
th-ranked Duke women's soccer team held practice on Thursday afternoon at Wallis Annenberg Stadium on UCLA's campus in advance of its second round matchup against the third-seeded Wisconsin Badgers in the 2019 NCAA Tournament.
"We're obviously looking forward to tomorrow," said head coach
Robbie Church. "We think it's a great honor to be in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. It's been a great trip to be sent out west. We're playing a really quality opponent in the University of Wisconsin. They're a really well-coached team and they're an organized team. It's going to be a very tough match, but we're excited and we're looking forward to it."
Duke held a one hour and fifteen minute practice on the field of Wallis Annenberg Stadium, working on offensive and defensive drills while brushing up on Friday's gameplan against the Badgers.
The Blue Devils arrived in Los Angeles, Calif., Wednesday afternoon before holding a team dinner and taking part in a pool workout.
Duke continues its postseason run on Friday evening, Nov. 22, as the squad will take on 10
th-ranked Wisconsin. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcasted on
www.pac-12.com. The winner will move on to the Round of 16 for a third round matchup on Sunday, Nov. 24, and will face the winner of the contest between UCLA and Clemson.
